Valorish Project

Green valorisation cascade approach of fish waste and by-products through fermentation towards a zero-waste future.

The primary goal of VALORISH is to convert these waste streams into valuable resources using a circular biorefinery model. Advanced computational tools will guide the design, modeling, optimization, and scale-up of key processes, resulting in the production of high-value bioproducts for applications such as food products, nutraceuticals, food additives, and supplements.

By promoting more sustainable bio-based processes, VALORISH aims to reduce environmental impact and advance marine biotechnology. The project also seeks to minimize reliance on low-value waste management routes like silage, composting, or biogas production, and avoid direct disposal. VALORISH aligns with the Waste Framework Directive and the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, contributing to Europe’s climate neutrality goals.
